For the third year in a row, Saint George’s School has been awarded the highly coveted Scholastic Cup for top 2B school in Washington for athletics, academic, and activities.
Awarded by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA), the Scholastic Cup recognizes performance in the classroom as well as on the playing surface. Schools that finish at the top of their respective classifications in state athletic competition receive points, as do schools that finish at the top in team academic performance.
Saint George’s finished the year with State Championship trophies in boys and girls track and field, as well as boys golf finishing 3rd in State and girls tennis 4th in State. On the academic side, both the SGS choir and drama programs and the boys soccer team earned State academic titles for highest GPA. See the List of SGS Teams that all contributed to winning the cup.
“This is a great accomplishment for our students, coaches, and teachers and is aligned with our mission of scholars, athletes and artists,” says Head of School Jamie Tender. “It represents the commitment to excellence in academics and activities represented in WIAA schools. It is an honor to be celebrated by our entire school.”
Congratulations to all of the Dragons for your accomplishments in and out of the classroom!
