A college prep school should have a strong understanding of the college process, and Saint George’s does. Each student and their family receives individualized guidance throughout the process from our college counselor, beginning with informative meetings on college and financial aid options in Middle School and continuing through your student’s Upper School years.

Our Resources

A steady stream of college representatives visit our campus.

Your student will learn about schools they might not have considered and compare how their academics and outside activities match up with what colleges are looking for in their applicants. In fact, we’ve built relationships with colleges across the country.

Knowledgeable college counselor that meets your student’s needs

Our college counselor knows what different schools offer and can share that with your student, or contact admissions counselors with advice about your student’s particular situation. We are here to help your child navigate choosing a career path and school that is the best fit for them.

Scoir

Scoir is an online college discovery and application service provided by Saint George’s for its students and families. Students can use the discovery features to learn more about themselves and all kinds of colleges, follow college’s social media posts, see how they compare with other Saint George’s students that have applied to different schools, keep their personal bios and activities lists current, track their college applications, and even apply to schools through Scoir when the time comes. It is a great tool for students to educate themselves about the process while they narrow their search—and for parents and our counselor to monitor their progress—on the way to gaining admission to the right school for them. Our focus is on making the transition to college swift and smooth, and tools such as Scoir help make this happen.

College trips that help students focus their search.

Each year, our ninth grade students embark on a day-long visit to a private college in Eastern Washington. Sophomores spend two-to-three days at the start of the year exploring regional schools to get an idea of the variety of colleges and universities out there. They talk to current students, tour the campuses, get a feel for college life, and discover how competitive the admissions process can be for top public and private institutions.
