Last Thursday, the second graders completed a wind unit activity. They predicted, in their workbooks, which materials (tissue paper, wax paper, plastic bags, notecards, cups, etc.) would make the best sails. Then partners designed and built sails mounted on popsicle-stick masts and attached to fishing line. When the large fan was turned on, their sails caught the wind and flew—great job, second grade!
