Last week, our 7th graders launched their Ecology and Sustainability theme through a day of outdoor science and service along the Spokane River. Students collaborated with Spokane Riverkeeper at People’s Park, participating in ecology activities and helped with a river cleanup. Later, they teamed up with The Lands Council to explore sources of urban pollution affecting our freshwater system. This hands-on experience was a powerful way to engage students in real-world science, fostering a sense of stewardship and commitment to sustainability.
