Six SGS Finalists for County Recycling Poster Contest

Congratulations to six SGS student artists whose poster designs were selected among the 30 finalists for this year’s Spokane Recycling Poster Contest. They include:

Mabel Corrao – 1st Grade
Louis Breeze – 2nd Grade
Sadie Douville – 2nd Grade
Logan Tampien – 3rd Grade
Huck Talbot – 6th Grade
Ella Tombari – 6th Grade

Finalists were recently selected by a team of local solid waste professionals and chosen from more than 250 entries submitted by county students. From those winners, the work of 17 students will be chosen for the 2024 Spokane Recycles calendar.

Student finalists will be recognized at the November 15th meeting of the Spokane County Solid Waste Advisory Committee. Artwork from all of the finalists is on display on the second floor of River Park Square, 808 W. Main, from November 1st-15th. After the reception on November 15th, the winning posters can also be viewed on the Spokane County Solid Waste website at www.TalkTrashSpokane.com (click on the link for the poster contest page). The 2023 Spokane Recycles calendar which will be available before the new year. An announcement of whose work will be in the calendar will be made at the reception on November 15, the office America Recycles Day. That announcement will be also posted on the county’s solid waste website at the address above.
