SGS Student Auditions for Whitworth Production of “Sound of Music”

This fall brings an exciting opportunity for students in grades 1-8, as Whitworth University has invited SGS students to audition for their upcoming production of The Sound of Music, to be presented between October 14-22. The children’s audition will be on the SGS campus in the LS Music Room on Tuesday, September 6th, from 3:30-5:00pm. Callbacks will be on Thursday, September 8th at 4:00pm on the Whitworth campus. The show’s director, Ann Benson, and the music director, Dr. Scott Miller, will be casting the production.

While the primary casting will be done with Whitworth students, there will be 4-6 children’s roles available. They are seeking 2 boys to appear between the ages of 10-14 and 4 girls to appear between the ages of 6-13. Joining the Whitworth production as Children’s Coach, Cynthia Kirkman Romoff, our Lower School music teacher, will serve as vocal coach, chaperone, and parent liaison. There will be an optional Q&A session on Tuesday, August 30th in the LS Music Room, from 4:00-4:30pm, after the LS Meet and Greet event. There will also be an “Audition Prep” session on Thursday, September 1st from 3:30-5:00pm where Cynthia will teach all three audition excerpts that will be required. This is optional, but strongly recommended for students who wish to audition.
