SGS Hosts Chess Tournament

Eleven Saint George’s students were part of the 37 competing at the Pilgrim’s Progress chess tournament at SGS on Saturday, November 18. Eshan Reddy scored a perfect 5.0 to win the top section. Kayaan Puri won biggest upset in the elementary section and also qualified for the elementary state championship with 3.0. See a Photo Gallery of the Dragon competitors.

The team placed second, edged out by half a point for the trophy by Addy Classical, a homeschool group. Four adults also participated in the parent’s tournament. The top parent-child team of Mohit and Asmi Jain won a chess set for their efforts. Go Dragons!
