SGS Girls Track Champions Named S-R “Small School Girls Coach/Team of the Year”

The Dragons won the State 2B girls track team title for the third time in school history last month at Eastern Washington University.
As the deepest and most dominant of those teams, coach TJ Moulton and the Dragons have been selected as The Spokesman-Review’s 2022 Small School Girls Coach/Team of the Year.

“We’ve had really good teams in the past where we’ve had two or three stars and then try to fill the pieces around it, but this year’s team was just so deep,” Moulton said in S-R article announcing the award. “It’s really the first year we have gotten contributions from track events and field events as we were there in every event.”

The Dragons not only swept the relay races at State, but their 4×400 victory marks a record-setting sixth consecutive State title in any track and field event.
