See 8th & 9th Grade “Rube Goldberg Machines”

Every see a “Rube Goldberg Machine” in action? Some of the 8th grade Science and 9th grade Physics students spent two weeks designing and building “machines” in the MS Science Lab. See a Photo Gallery of them working (during a visit by Lower School students) on these complicated chain reactions that do such things as frosting a cupcake or giving a student a pie in the face! Plus, see YouTube videos of an 8th Grade Group’s Machine that uses rocks and strings to turn on a microwave to pop a bag of popcorn, and of a 9th Grade Group’s Machine that can pull out the stopper in a sink just by turning on the faucet. It involves marbles and falling objects and lots of dominos!
