Last week, 2nd grade students created colorful Playdough Earths to explore the layers beneath our feet. Guided by their teacher, Sarah Henrickson, students modeled the Earth’s inner core, outer core, mantle, and crust, carefully shaping each layer and placing it in the correct order.
By creating and then examining their Playdough models, students transformed an abstract science concept into something they could see, touch, and discuss.
