Robotics Team Qualifies for PNW District Championships

The weekend of March 22-24, the SGS FIRST Robotics Challenge (FRC) “Team 1595” travelled to Bellevue, WA (Sammamish High School) to compete in their second FRC qualifying tournament. They were able to fight their way through to the finals, but were eliminated in the second match. They ended their weekend with a win, however, by bringing home the Creativity Award and earning enough points to continue on to the PNW District Championships in Portland, April 4-6! Go 1595 Dragons!

The Creativity Award recognized them for designing a panel in the robot that would allow them to switch shooting high notes into the speaker or low notes into the amp. Here’s the poem that went along with the prize:

Search high, look low
These beasts are on the go
Shooting over, maybe under
There’s two spots they mainly plunder
The judges enjoyed the ease of their switches
Notes flying like flame from their mouths without glitches.
