Still accepting applications for the 2025-26 school year!

Dear SGS Community,

Our hearts are with everyone in our community affected by the Spokane Complex fires. To all who have been displaced or experienced immeasurable loss, and to the thousands across our region impacted, you are in our thoughts. We are also deeply grateful for the firefighters and first responders whose tireless work has protected and continues to protect so many lives, homes, and our campus.

A few important updates:

We are here for you:

We know this has been incredibly difficult for so many of our families. If you have been displaced, your housing situation (or address) has changed, or there’s anything we should know to better support your family, please reach out to us at communitysupport@sgs.org. Leave a short note to let us know how our community can support you with any needs you may have. You don’t have to face this alone.

If you need to update your bus transportation location or ridership to start the year, email our Transportation Director, John Young, at john.young@sgs.org.

Campus is open:

Campus is open and available if we can be of assistance.

Relief fund & donation drive:

We are establishing a drive for school supplies, clothing, gift cards, and cash donations for families in need. We do not know the full extent of what folks will need, but we are hoping to build a list once we hear from our families.

If you would like to donate items, email us at communitysupport@sgs.org, and our volunteers will pick items up from you — no need to travel.

We are also establishing the SGS Community Relief Fund to collect monetary donations to aid our SGS families and community members whose homes were lost or damaged. You can access the SGS Give Now page to donate or for more information.

Back-to-school mailing:

As you prepare for the start of school and the upper school trips, please read through the materials you received via email earlier this summer — they contain important information for the year ahead.

New Family Float CANCELLED:

The New Family Float scheduled for August 15 has been cancelled. We’ll be sure to welcome our new families in another way once things stabilize.

Please take care of yourselves and one another. We are a strong and resilient community, and with our generosity of spirit and sincere care, we will get through this together.

Take care and be safe this weekend!

Sincerely,

Jamie Tender
Head of School
