Local Astronaut Started at SGS
Local astronaut Anne McClain successfully blasted off Monday, Dec. 3 to the International Space Station from Kazakhstan. She will spend more than six months doing research and experiments in biology, Earth science, physical sciences and technology.
McClain attended Saint George's Lower School before graduating from Gonzaga Prep in 1997. After a year in the ROTC program at Gonzaga University, she attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical and aeronautical engineering.
