Melville to Step Down from Coaching Boys Soccer

Heidi Melville has decided to leave her position as Head Boys Soccer Coach and focus on her teaching role at SGS this fall. “Though I’ve loved teaching in the Lower School and coaching these past two years, I have been stretched pretty thin,” she said in a recent email to the SGS soccer team and families. “In order to give teaching and my students the time and energy I need, I have to let the coaching side of me go.”

Heidi directed the SGS boys’ soccer team to multiple State Championships, most recently in 2019. “Coaching has been a part of my life since I was in college. I have spent the last fifteen years with this program and have absolutely LOVED the life-long relationships I have formed. I am grateful to all of my players and their families for weaving such beautiful images into the fabric of my life.”

She also has been an assistant coach with the girls’ basketball team, coached track and field athletes, and coached a 5th grade basketball team during her time at Saint George’s. Heidi will continue coaching 5th grade basketball while she focuses on teaching 4th grade in the fall.
