Shawn Jones set a personal-best by five seconds in the 800m to take second at the Legends Invite in Walla Walla on April 29th. His time of 1:54.68 is the fastest in the 2B classification, fourth in the entire state of Washington, and sixth-fastest time for a sophomore in the entire country! Jones’ performance also broke a Saint George’s school record that had stood for over 27 years, and it earned him WIAA Athlete of the Week honors. Along with anchoring the Dragons’ 4x400m and 4x100m relays, Shawn also ran a state-leading time of 50.57 in the 400m at a league meet last week. Congratulations, Shawn!
