Extended Essay Highlight: Senior Skyler Peplinski is doing her Extended Essay on the many different factors that are causing the wage gap between players in the WNBA and the NBA. She says she had seen a TikTok video last year by an NCAA player about the differences at the Division 1 level NCAA tournament between women’s and men’s teams. That led her to want to explore differences at the professional level of basketball more in depth. She has used many research articles analyzing her question to write her Extended Essay.
CAS Project Highlight: Seniors Skyler Peplinski and Tanner Watkins are running a drive through the end of January to support the local SCRAPS Animal Shelter. Donated items can be left in the SCRAPS bins in the Middle and Upper School courtyards.
CAS Experience Highlights: CAS experiences for all of our Upper School Students recorded this week included being a volunteer stocking stuffer at the hospital, teaching French, participating in gymnastics, skiing, sorting food for the Second Harvest Food Bank, participating in Santa Express, making a charcuterie board, taking photos, resetting the climbing gym, making gingerbread houses, fixing a hot plate for the science teachers, crocheting a sweater, and shoveling driveways.
