See Photos of 7th & 8th Grade Theme Days

The 7th grade class spent March 27th planting a variety of wetland plants along a tributary of Latah Creek. They also took part in water quality testing. The Lands Council spoke with the students about the importance of the riparian restoration work on fresh water ecology. See a Photo Gallery of their outdoor service activities.

The same day, the 8th graders met with Generation Alive to learn about homelessness and compassion. They worked with Union Gospel Mission to help serve the residents lunch and hear their stories. The students also created homeless kits containing simple living amenities. See a Photo Gallery of their indoor service activities.

Dragon’s Take “Last Chance” Chess Trophies

The Last Chance Chess tournament on Saturday, April 15 had four Saint George’s students and three of them won trophies. Congratulations to Eshan Reddy, who won the trophy for top middle school student and tied for 2nd overall in the high school section. Melody Ji took 1st place in grade 1, and Asmi Jain was 1st place in grade 2. In the elementary team competition, SGS had the same score as Mullan Road Elementary, but Mullan took home the trophy. And overall, seven SGS students have qualified for the State Tournament at the Tacoma Convention Center on April 29. Go Dragons!
