On June 6–7, Saint George’s FIRST® Lego League Team 40707, the Golden Dragons, traveled to Madison, New Jersey, to compete in the American Robotics Open. They joined 67 teams from across the country—representing the top 3% of FLL teams nationally—for a postseason opportunity to challenge themselves, share ideas, and sharpen their skills as robotics engineers. The weekend began with judging presentations and networking and culminated in Lightning Rounds, where the Golden Dragons partnered with a team from Pennsylvania in a modified game. They finished with a standard set of three 2.5‑minute matches (top score counted). Overall, it was a strong event: the team gained experience, returned more confident, and is ready to tackle the next step of their robotics journey next fall!
