FTC Robotics Teams Reach Inter-League Finals

On Saturday, January 13, FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Robotics teams 6128 (The Dragons 1.0) & 7935 (The Dragons 2.0), competed at the Inter-league competition at Ridgeline HS, playing against thirteen other teams from around Eastern Washington. After a long day of matches, team 6128, consisting of Braeden Bledsoe, Donovan Bradford, Janie Martinez, Vedant Mahajan, Noah Naccarato, Dexter Simmons, & Mysun Ward, was able to hold 2nd, placing them in the semi-finals. During alliance selection, they chose team 7935, consisting of Cassidy Clelland and Mason Foster (with Mysun Ward filling in as their game captain) for their alliance partners. Together, they were able to advance to the finals.

Pitted against the number one team and their alliance partner, both Dragons 1.0 & 2.0 gave it their all, losing the first match, but winning the second. It all came down to a nail-biting third match, with the winner advancing to State. Despite their best efforts, the Dragons lost 134 to 151. See a Photo Gallery of the teams at the competition.

Both teams had a great season and 6128 looks forward to what they can accomplish next year. Team 7935 brought home the Design Award for their state-of-the-art robot design. Coach Scott Foster says, “I’m very happy about the season and how the teams performed and represented themselves. I’m proud of their growth and dedication.”
