FTC Robotics Teams Battle the Competition

On Nov. 4th, the First Tech Challenge (FTC) Robotic teams participated in their first qualifying event at Gonzaga Prep. Seven teams, including our own #6128 (Dragons 1.0) and #7935 (Dragons 2.0) represented by Middle Schoolers Braeden Bledsoe, Donovan Bradford, Vedant Mahajan, Reyhan Malik, Noah Naccarato, Eshan Reddy, Jasmin Tohmeh, Mysun Ward and Upper Schoolers Cassidy Clelland, Bentley English, Mason Foster, Janie Martinez, and Dexter Simmons, competed in their first matches of the season.

Despite a slow start and some technical difficulties, both teams were able to rally and give some nail-biting games. “Both robots had working autonomous programs and 6128 had a functioning paper airplane launch for end game while 7935 was able to hang,” reports coach Michelle Bledsoe. “During their last match, 6128 had a brief loss of connection but was able to shoot their paper airplane onto the landing target right before the buzzer!”
