Francesca Mulazzi to Leave Saint George’s Next Year

Head of School Jamie Tender has announced that Francesca Mulazzi, Head of Upper School, has made the decision that this, her fourth year at Saint George’s School, will be her final year. Francesca came to Saint George’s with a background in international schools and the International Baccalaureate, and she will return overseas to continue her career.

“I would like to congratulate Francesca, as she has accepted a position as the High School Principal at the International School of Panama for the 2023-24 school year,” says Jamie. (Please see Francesca’s Letter to the SGS Community.)

Francesca has strengthened Saint George’s approach to the IB Diploma Programme and continues to develop the instructional practices and community in the Upper School. “She was able to accomplish many of the collective goals set forth when she was hired during one of the most significant disruptions in education caused by the pandemic,” notes Jamie. “Through it all she supported our teachers, students, and community to keep the Upper School safe and welcoming for students during challenging times.”

“I would like to thank Francesca for the energy and vision during her tenure, including the remainder of the 2022-23 school year,” says Jamie. “It has been a pleasure to work with her as we committed to strengthening all aspects of the IB Diploma Programme to prepare our students for placement in the “best fit” colleges and universities in the country and abroad. I look forward to the year ahead as we continue to grow the Upper School enrollment and nurture our students as inspiring scholars, athletes, and artists to serve and lead.”

This early announcement will provide time to start the process of selecting a new Head of Upper School. The process will begin immediately with hopes of identifying the next Head of Upper School for Saint George’s later this school year.
