Four Dragons Compete at State Chess Tournament

The four SGS students who attended the Elementary State Chess Tournament all won at least one game. “Kayaan Puri played only higher rated players, but won one of those games,” reports coach James Stripes. “Asmi Jain played two higher rated and three lower rated, winning against two of those lower rated. Luca Hochheimer beat the only player rated lower than himself among his opponents, and drew one of those higher rated. Noah Hochheimer won three games against players rated below him, and lost to two who were higher rated.”

Noah won a trophy; the others received medals. See a Photo Gallery of the students at State!
