Both the 5th Grade (team 40706, Fatal Error) and 6th Grade (team 40707, The Golden Dragons) FIRST Lego League (FLL) teams competed at their qualifying event this weekend in Freeman, WA. On Saturday, Dec. 10, Fatal Error competed against 20 other local teams. Despite a small robot malfunction in the 2nd round, they scored a solid 185 points, ending the day ranked 6th.
On Sunday, Dec. 11, The Golden Dragons played three strong matches with a high score of 180. At their judging session, they easily obtaining the Core Values Award, that along with their 5th place ranking, secured their spot at FLL State in February. “Both teams worked really hard this season and deserve a high-five for a job well done!” says advisor Michelle Bledsoe.
