Feist Honored by State Health Tracking Program

The Washington State Department of Health’s Youth Science Contest recognized 9th grader Simon Feist for his project on teen and young adult health issues. “After looking through numerous health issues that I found of interest, I decided to study the data on sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in teens and young adults,” said Simon. “The statistics and data I found were eye-opening! I had to prepare a presentation to discuss my findings, any equity issues, and offer a solution.” The contest awarded Simon 2nd place in the Community Engagement / Individual division. He also presented his findings to his PE class during the human growth and development unit.
