Dragon’s Take “Last Chance” Chess Trophies

The Last Chance Chess tournament on Saturday, April 15 had four Saint George’s students and three of them won trophies. Congratulations to Eshan Reddy, who won the trophy for top middle school student and tied for 2nd overall in the high school section. Melody Ji took 1st place in grade 1, and Asmi Jain was 1st place in grade 2. Colette Spelman was one of just two Kindergarten students participating; she learned how to record her moves, which was a great start for her first tournament.

In the elementary team competition, SGS had the same score as Mullan Road Elementary, but Mullan took home the trophy. And overall, seven SGS students have qualified for the State Tournament at the Tacoma Convention Center on April 29. Go Dragons!
