On Saturday, 1/17, FTC Robotics Team 7935, Dragons 2.0, traveled to Maple Valley, WA, to compete in the FIRST FTC Super Qualifier. Up against 31 other teams from around the region, they fought hard to hold their ranking to advance to the semi-finals. Each team played 5 qualifying matches, but despite holding a high ranking through most of the day, their last match proved extra challenging and they dropped down to 12th place in qualifiers. This meant their only hope for continuing to semi-finals was to be selected as an alliance partner. The excitement continued, however, when the #2 ranked team captain chose them to be on their alliance! Despite their efforts, though, they didn’t make it to finals, dropping down to the lower bracket on their 2nd match, then losing their 3rd. Their spirits were lifted again, though, when the announcement for the 14 teams advancing to the State Championship included Team 7935, the 10th team named! They’ll travel to Seattle, WA, on January 31, where they’ll compete against 23 other teams at the Amazon Doppler Meeting Center for a 1 in 16 chance to move on to either Worlds or another Capstone event!
Good Luck and Go Dragons!
