Several SGS students volunteered to help remove trash from the Spokane River on Saturday, Sept. 17. One of them made it onto the KREM 2 evening news!
Ronan Gortler, wearing his Class of 2023 Dragon sweatshirt, talked on camera about the impact that trash has on the ecosystem of the river. “The less trash we have out here, including a lot of scrap metal, the more chance we can get our River all cleaned up,” Gortler said.
The clean-up, organized by the Lands Council, usually picks up about four tons of trash in one day from 16 different locations along the Spokane River. See Ronan on the KREM2 News Video.
