The Saint George’s boys track and field team won their first 2B State Championship on the legs of sophomore Shawn Jones! After winning state titles in the 400 and 800 meter races, Shawn ran a remarkable finishing leg of the 4×400 relay race to catch Chewelah for 2nd place. That finish turned out to be the difference between tying Chewelah for the State Title and winning it outright.
Kudos as well to Ben Morales who won the 1600 meter race, and to Benjamin Sudlow and Per Sande who joined Ben and Shawn in the key 4×400 race. Ben also finished 5th in the 3200 race. Congratulations on the best boys track and field season in school history!
