7th Graders Explore the Outdoors at Camp Spalding

During the 7th graders’ three-day retreat at Camp Spalding on Davis Lake, they tried a variety of outdoor activities while also spending time journaling, writing haiku poems, and sharing their experiences. See photo galleries of different groups of students Learning to Fly Fish (PE teacher Jim Tuck caught a fish while demonstrating good fly fishing technique!) and Climbing a Rocky Outcrop. Other groups went Kayaking on the Lake or worked together on Balance Challenges. In one challenge, they had to get everyone from one platform across another to a third platform. Another challenge involved two people walking out a diverging set of wires while everyone else helped support and protect them. Great teambuilding exercises!
