6th Grade Brainstorms Genius Hour Ideas

The 6th graders recently spent time brainstorming their interests and narrowing down potential ideas for Genius Hour projects. They wrote on tables about changes they would like to make in the world, things they would like to make, interests they had, and things they would like to learn. Then they wrote questions under each others’ ideas and suggested how they could fulfill them. (Can you guess what day it was?)

“For example, if the change was Ocean Plastic, there should have been several questions coming off that idea,” says 6th grade teacher Brad Kirsch, “and then a student might have written “Create art from ocean plastic” as a potential Genius Hour idea.” See a Photo Gallery of the 6th grade classes using their brains on Halloween!
